Laundry Room
Please remember that it is our responsibility to make sure that she keps a clean apartment. It is our job to prompt and encourage her to do these things but if she does not, they need to be done for her. Also keep in mind that she has lived at her parent's house her whole life and has never had to do a lot of these tasks. Although she is cognitively capable, she will need teaching, support, and guidance.
Still it is important that she eats regularly at 8am, Noon, and 5pm, for her health and with her meds. This should include some type of protein. Give her a couple/few choices and allow her to choose a meal. Start by prompting her to prepare a meal ½ hour before mealtime. If she is unwilling to prepare the meal for her to ensure she eats.
Nutritionist Meal Plan
It is very important that she eats three times per day. This is for her health (seizures) as well as her medication. The routine is:

15 min before meal time – If she has not begun, start prepping for her.
Mealtime – If you prepared the meal, then give it to her with her meds. If she prepared the meal, prompt her to take her meds with it.
Refer to the DAILY SCHEDULE for eating times.

Keys are hung up on the inside of the door to pantry, left of the fridge. There are three keys here:
- Laundry Room
- Mailbox
- SMC Music Center Practice Room
An important activity for her is the practice room at the Santa Monica College Performing Arts Center across the street. She needs to be encouraged to go there when she has the free time. This is on the CALENDAR for 1pm during the week but can be done anytime. She has a key to the practice room that will be hanging on the inside of the pantry door. Please be very careful with this key as the door lock automatically and it is very easy to lock the key in there. Do not set the key down in the practice room.
Prompt her to go to the practoce room on the day indicated in the calendar at 1pm. Remind her to bring the following items:

- There are “Grohl Bucks™” located in an envelope in the cupboard between the kitchen and the dining area.
- Every morning, place a checklist on the board by the table as we have been doing. Every time she accomplishes a task on that list, pay her that amount in “Grohl Bucks©”.
- At the end of the week, mom will count the “Grohl Bucks™” and pay her that amount on her green card.
- Feel free to offer her “Grohl Bucks™” for off the list activities that we are encouraging her to do ie; folding laundry, checking her email, etc.
- Use the payment method to encourage her to complete tasks, “I can make your breakfast for you but then you do not earn any money.” I have used this with her fairly successfully.
- Remember that we are not using this to get her to complete these tasks perfectly but to get her to incorporate these activities into her daily life as a habit. As long as she completes the tasks, she gets paid, even if we need to go back and redo those tasks correctly.
