What is 3D Supports?

3D Supports is a limited liability organization started by five people with a combined over seventy-seven years of experience in the field of developmental disabilities. 3D Supports believes in a person-centered and flexible approach to supports.  We believe that each individual present with their own set of needs, goals, abilities, and challenges.  Rather than fit an individual into a pre-existing support paradigm, we work to develop a program around that individual that understands and addressed those needs, goals, abilities, and challenges.

NK Morning Routine

Start the morning with:
  • 10 belly breaths (where his goal is to use the diaphragm to breathe). Remind Neal to go slow and do good breaths in through his nose and out through his mouth.  He will put his hand on his belly on his own, but if he doesn’t remind him.
  • Squeezes with squish football in each hand – squeeze for 10 seconds, then release for 10 seconds. Repeat 3 times.
  • Neal taps each of these areas once with each hand..

  • Check his calendar and confirm appointments and who he is going to see and what time.  Also, he and staff can see what chores need to be done around the house.
  • Expanding Neal’s communication is the goal the next few weeks. Monica is asking you to encourage him for more information.  At the start of your shift, ask Neal what he wants to do today.  He will find the one word “beach.” “oh how do you want to get there?” then he can type “walk” or “drive”.  How long do you want to go?  (talk ot him about lengths of time).  Just expand what you are talking to him about and make him give details so the conversation can go back and forth 5x. Please ask Zack or Monica for help in this area if you need!
This really only takes 10 minutes maximum but gives Neal a nice calming start to his day! Please write your name to check off that you followed this routine with Neal during your session.  Thanks so much!
