CPI Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (NCI) Training prepares your staff to prevent and de-escalate medium to high-risk behavior using both restrictive and non-restrictive methods.
NCI training has two parts
- The online portion - you go over the philosophy and approach of CPI Nonviolent Crisis Intervention. You will learn strategies to de-escalate situations before they become physical. You will also review the strategies to deal with situations when they do become physical that you will learn in detail during the in-person portion of the class.
- The in-person portion – you will meet with the instructor and review what you learned online then learn to apply the physical part of CPI Nonviolent Crisis Intervention safely and effectively.
How do I get trained?
This is how it works:
- You fill out the FORM and indicate when you want to attend the IN-PERSON class.
- The FORM populates a spreadsheet and lets Erik Sr. know someone has signed up.
- Erik Sr. looks at the sign-up spreadsheet and signs you up for the chosen date for the IN-Person class.
- Be aware, there must be at least two participants per class to practice the control positions. If you are the only one signing up for a IN-PERSON date, you may have to wait for another person to sign up or reschedule. Erik Sr. will contact you.
- Erik Sr. will contact you and let you know you are signed up for a class.
- You will check the email you provided for the invite o the ONLINE portion of the class.
- The invite comes directly from CPI, it is not sent by Erik Sr.
- If you do not see the email, search your email for "crisis"
- If you still do not see it, contact Erik Sr.
- Follow that link and complete the ONLINE portion of the course.
- Attend the IN-PERSON portion of the course on the date for which you signed up.
- Be aware, the ONLINE portion MUST be completed before the IN-PERSON class.
